Claudia Conway PR

Arts & Culture PR Consultant

About

A highly experienced arts PR, I focus particularly on the performing arts. Currently Head of Press & PR at Shakespeare's Globe, I provide consultancy and personal publicity for charities, actors, and comedians. I have extensive experience and training in crisis communications.

I started at the Globe in 2014, and worked across the tenures of three different Artistic Directors. I have coordinated publicity around several major news events, including the international celebrations for the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death and President Obama’s visit to the Globe. With my former company, Draper Conway, I worked with a huge variety of clients, ranging from the gender equality campaign group ERA 50:50 to Dominic Dromgoole’s West End season of Oscar Wilde, from the Belarus Free Theatre to Cirque Berserk.

I studied Politics at Durham University, and hold diplomas from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in Public Relations and Crisis Communications.

I enjoy working alongside clients to gain (or focus) a clear professional narrative, and to build confidence in working with the media. It is important to define and shape strong and clear narratives which are both truthful and engaging. I like to focus on longer-term thinking, going beyond an individual show or project. I specialise in personal reputation building, organisational reputational change, and crisis survival and recovery.
